An award winning communicator and consultant, Patti DeNucci founded DeNucci & Co. in 2001 after spending more than 20 years working in the Austin business community as a marketing communications executive and freelance writer. Since then, “Working and connecting at a higher level” has become her philosophy. It’s also the inspiration for her DeNotations blog and as well as the book she is currently writing.

Patti's first experiences with freelancers came in 1983 when she was an account manager at a marketing communications firm. Interview by interview, she created and then collaborated with a select network of freelancers and consultants who complemented the agency’s internal resources and upheld its reputation for excellence, innovation, and customer service.

In 1989 Patti began freelancing as a copywriter and marketing communications consultant. Her business took off quickly, inspiring her to help other freelancers achieve similar success. In the early 1990s she founded what is now Freelance Austin, a networking and professional development organization for business-oriented freelancers. Today Freelance Austin is affiliated with the Austin Professional Chapter of the Association of Women in Communications (AWC).

Given that Patti frequently attracted more business than she could handle, she created her own network of capable freelance affiliates to take on the overflow. Since then Patti has worked with and advised hundreds of freelancers, sharing her knowledge of how to attract great clients and run a thriving, respected freelance practice.  Forming DeNucci & Co. was a natural next-step in her career.

Patti’s accomplishments and leadership in her field helped her earn the AWC Outstanding Chapter Member Award as well as Mentor of the Year Award in the 1990s.  She has also been nominated for AWC’s Outstanding Austin Communicator Award, the Austin Women’s Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Women Award, Working Mother Magazine’s Raising a Ruckus Award, and the Austin Business Journal’s Profiles in Power Award.

She has been quoted, featured, and published in the Austin American-Statesman, the Austin Business Journal, Austin Woman Magazine, Austin Business District and other publications.  She has also spoken to dozens of professional organizations and at numerous local, regional, and national business events.
